Kathryn's Birthday!
Here are the details ... pay close attention to the
times
| 2/9 Thu
| Janine had her doctor visit and all is well. Janine is 37 ½
weeks and that kid is ready to come out any day now. (1cm dilated)
|

| 2/10 Fri
| On Friday, we got a call from Janine's Doctor at around 6:30p
letting us know that if we want to induce that there is room and
that we can come in that night. So we did. |
| 8:30pm - We got to the hospital, registered and settled
in. Since the plan was to induce, I brought Christopher with
intentions of going back home with him after Janine got settled in.
We asked the nurses and her doctor what time they expected Janine to
give birth. Everyone answered mid/late morning, early afternoon. No
reason to just sit around for hours and hours - I had plenty of
time. |
| 9:00pm - Janine is dilated 2-3cm - its going to be a long
night... (Or so we thought) |
| 10:30pm - I got home with Chris. Put Chris to bed and I
finally fell asleep around 12:30a-1:00am |

| 2/11 SAT
| 1:00am - Janine's water broke on its own |
| 2:05am - Janine called me from the hospital.
Unexpectedly, she was dilated about 7-8cm and was getting ready to
have a baby |
| 2:12am - I called Joel (neighbor) and had him come by to
make sure Chris was ok while I got myself together and left for the
hospital. |
| 2:30am - On the road to get to Northside. It was pouring
down rain and I was flying just to make sure I got there quick
enough to help. |
| 3:05am - I got to the hospital. The doctor got there
right after I did. (Still had his jacket on) |
| 3:18am - Kathryn was born after only 4 sets of pushing.

Wow, I just made it. So much for inducing. Guess we were going to have
the baby that day no matter what.. good thing we went to the hospital on
Friday night... with Janine having such a quick labor, we might have had a
GA-400 baby.
